WEC is now signed up with eScrip.com.

This program allows you to register Select Grocery cards as well as retailer credit cards, VISA, MasterCard and other cards. When you make purchases with you qualifying and registered cards, a small percentage is donated to WEC. Please consider registering your cards to help support WEC and our scholarship progam.

If you missed our June 11th meeting "MAKING BUSINESS SENSE OUT OF GOING GREEN" you can click the link below to view our speaker's Douglas Hileman, Principal of Douglas Hileman & Associates, presentation. With climate change front and center these days, everyone has their own "green thing." The intentions are good, and many ideas yield some benefit - fewer emissions, or less packaging in our landfills. Mr. Hileman  discussed the growing array of compliance requirements, the challenges for any enterprise.

Come join WEC for our July meeting in which Bill Powers will be coming to give a presentation about his San Diego Smart Energy 2020 proposal. Bill Powers, P.E. is an expert on regional power provision, with extensive knowledge and experience in the fields of energy and mechanical engineering, air monitoring and control equipment, and pollution and public health. He is internationally renowned for his work in the energy field, providing expert testimony and analysis, project management, strategic planning, and equipment testing and monitoring for private energy project developers throughout the world, including the United States, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, Panama, and Chile.

In addition to what is sure to be an interesting and informative presentation, we will be holding a raffle for our scholarship fund. The wonderful raffle prizes for this month include Old Globe passes and a Food Lover's Gift Basket. You don't want to miss out, so be sure to bring a little extra cash with you if you'd like to participate. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

The July meeting will be held on July 23rd, 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at the Mission Valley Resort located at 875 Hotel Circle South, San Diego.

Please RSVP to Caroline Evans at caevans@hdrinc.com by July 20th with Regular or Vegetarian food option. Please note, the costs for the lunch presentation are: $20 members; $18 students/ government; $25 nonmembers.

**Please also note that if you RSVP and do not attend, you must send someone in your place that will eat your selected meal choice or we will send you a bill. This is necessary due to the pricing and reservation policies of the venue.**
